ENDLESS INSPIRATION
There is something incredibly emotional about a musical swell, perhaps because it mimics a breath; it begins from nothing, builds to a peak before fading back to nothing. It is a very emotional musical gesture, but it is difficult to replicate convincingly with standard sustain samples, but you don’t have to; the swells in this collection are real performances, full of expression and humanity. Built from solo violin, viola and cello recordings full of detail and incredibly intimate sounding, making them perfect for emotional underscore or Scandi Noir style cues.
This collection gives you all the swells originally recorded for the Iremia series (Kontakt only) but now re-imagined as an ensemble patch spread across the keyboard. Having the full range from cello to violin available under your fingers perfectly balanced for two-handed playing, this is not only an incredibly inspiring library to improvise with when coming up with ideas, but also quick and easy to use when under a deadline.

Three different swells
You get three different types of swells in this collection:
- Normale – a standard non-muted sound. Bright and clear, but never aggressive. Beautifully open sounding.
- Con Sordino (CS) – using a standard rubber mute on the bridge, creating a warm and more introspective sound, ideal for quiet, intimate passages.
- Tremolo Con Sordino – The nervous energy of a tremolo combined with the soft quality of con sordino. Dramatic, but restrained.
Four lengths
All of the three different types of swells each come in four different lengths, from four to one seconds. The length describes the time it takes for the swell to reach the peak, so a two second swell is actually four seconds long; two seconds of reaching the peak, and two seconds of fading back out to nothing.

Previously only available as individual instruments for Kontakt, now you can have the intimate sound world of the Iremia series available in Soundbox, which is not only free to download but also works on Mac, Windows, Linux and the Apple iPad for making music on the go.
